I wasn’t always like this. When I was a kid I had all these plans. I was going to save the world and feed the poor in Ethiopia. Raise money for war veterans. Peel the worms off the sidewalk. I was going to adopt 15 kids, have 2 of my own. Save wounded animals, all the time. And…um, find love. And a home.

But I couldn’t make it happen. Any of it. I just always lived in the future. Tomorrow, some day, later. And then I woke up and realized that tomorrow is today and nothing’s happened. You’re getting older and only death is waiting at the other end. You just know what you were hoping for, tomorrow, is your worst enemy and all your dreams just start sounding stupid.
